The Balalaika is a lute-like folk instrument of northern and central Russia, a descendant of the 16th century dombra. The Balalaika has a triangular body and a long neck with frets. It has a flat back and a thin, slightly arched soundboard.
Nice collection of Russian folk songs performed on balalaika, the most folkloric Russian instrument. Includes Kamarinskaya (a lively dance), Berezka and other famous tunes. Selected are best recordings form 60's through 80's, made by virtouses and recognized masters of the genre.
